Preservatives – the most popular form of dietary additives E. This is understandable, because the preservatives allow long-term storage of food in warehouses, on store shelves and after purchase. Preservatives kill bacteria and, thus, lengthen the shelf life of food products. Man is not killed by the preservative consumption because it has a large mass and, in addition, preservatives are partially destroyed in the stomach under the influence of hydrochloric acid. Preservatives can be natural and synthetic. Natural preservatives include, for example, acetic acid and lactic acid.
